Anthropic AI has introduced Mythos, a new artificial intelligence model designed to dramatically accelerate cybersecurity analysis. Due to its potential misuse, the company has chosen not to release the model publicly, instead offering restricted access to major technology, financial, and security organizations.

Known officially as Claude Mythos Preview, the model can rapidly scan software, detect unknown vulnerabilities, and test hacking techniques at a speed far beyond human capability. Anthropic warns that without safeguards, such AI models could enable cybercriminals and state‑sponsored attackers to launch faster and more persistent cyber attacks.
Access to Mythos has been granted to companies including Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft, JPMorgan Chase, Nvidia, and leading cybersecurity firms. Anthropic has also briefed U.S. government officials, reflecting growing national and global concerns over AI‑powered cyber threats.
As artificial intelligence reshapes digital security, experts warn the industry is entering an AI‑versus‑AI cybersecurity arms race, where defenders must deploy advanced AI tools to keep pace with increasingly automated attacks.
